Job duties include: part preparation including removal of machining marks; finishing, fitting, testing and blending; Metal polishing / hand polishing; application of coating and finishes; hand assembly and customizing pistols according to specifications; servicing of pistols including cleaning and repairing; testing of the firearms; complying with all State and Federal (ATF) regulations; safety at all times

Qualifications include: Must be able to pass a background and drug screen; High School Diploma or GED Equivalent; knowledge of 1911 pistols, operation and firearm safety; ability to master the complete assembly, function, fitting and repairing of the 1911 pistols; posses above-average mechanical aptitude; true dedication to precision.

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Work closely with experienced Gunsmiths
  • Assist Gunsmith Team and company to ensure compliance with all State and Federal (ATF) regulations
  • Work in a manner that ensures safety, at all times
  • Hand assemble and customize pistols according to customer needs and specifications
  • Part preparation including removal of machining marks, finishing, fitting, testing and blending with the use of hand tools and machines such as grinders
  • Metal polishing / hand polishing
  • Application of coatings and finishes
  • Clean, repair, fabricate and disassemble pistols
  • Assist in servicing of pistols including cleaning
  • Testing of Firearms
  • Report to production any issues detected that are attributed to the assembly process
  • Work efficiently with all departments to ensure production goals are met and customer orders completed on time
  • Complete documentation in accordance with established procedures
  • Conduct as directed equipment maintenance, cleaning, facility maintenance and all other production tasks
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 18 years or older
  • Must be able to pass a background check and work in a drug free environment
  • Knowledge of 1911 Pistols, operation and firearm safety
  • Ability to master the complete assembly, function, fitting and repairing of Cabot Guns
  • Knowledge of math and measurement
  • Technical and mechanical abilities
  • High level of attention to detail and dedication to precision
  • Ability to operate machinery and tools
  • Experience in machining, engraving, CNC operations, etc. a plus
  • Ability to become an expert in grinding, polishing and filing pistols
  • Metallurgy and woodworking knowledge a plus
  • Ability to work on lathe machine, milling machine and Bridgeport’s preferred

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Set up and run jobs on CNC Mills from start to finish
  • Review 3D Model; make calculations for programming including tool paths
  • Create new Designs & prints
  • Plan and manage multiple jobs at once to ensure work orders are completed to meet the needs of business
  • Assist other team members, as needed to work as a team
  • Secure, set up and adjust workpieces and cutting tools throughout shift to ensure precision
  • Monitor production equipment including the overall speed and feed of the machines throughout shift to reduce accidents, ensure product is of the right quality and maintain optimum machine operation
  • Perform inspection on all completed machine components for defects, and make all necessary modifications before approving them
  • Modify existing programs as needed and develop creative solutions for increased efficiency and possibility of new programs
  • Ensure that raw materials and tooling are available by partnering with the Purchasing Team Member
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience required
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM (Mastercam)
  • Ability to design blueprints and models using Solidworks
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine operations and processes
  • Ability to cut a variety of material from plastic to tool steel
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment
  • Must be able to work without direction with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing workload and customer specifications
  • Be able to develop creative solutions while problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Must display team mentality and willingness to learn
  • Desire to become the best at what you do is paramount
  • Pass background check and drug screen

Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • CAM Programming and CNC Operation: 3 Years Preferred
  • CNC Operator Experience: 3 Years preferred
