Office Assistant - Fort Wayne IN

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our company as an Office Assistant.  As part of our team, you will work with a small group of individuals dedicated to their craft and a small business just as dedicated to its employees.

  

This role will primarily be responsible for compiling purchase requests for approval, processing approved purchase requests and coordinating with vendors, and updating/tracking the status of purchase requests.  Process and reconcile all receipts related to purchases made by the local office.  Be responsible for coordination with our Safety Consultant to ensure that the company adheres to OHS guidelines and that we perform our daily tasks in a safe manner.  The Office Assistant will work directly with and report to the Director of Operations.  This position is ideal for those who can showcase their initiative when opportunities to assist the team arise and someone who enjoys a certain level of autonomy in their duties while ensuring these responsibilities are completed efficiently.

Office Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

Complete the following duties including but not limited to:

  • Purchasing / Accounts Payable
    • Compiling purchase requests from all local departments and submitting them to the Director of Operations for approval.
    • Communicating with vendors on the ordering and delivery of approved purchase requests.
    • Routine follow-up with vendors to confirm the estimated delivery of orders and keep appropriate trackers up to date.
    • Use digital systems to submit purchase orders related to production inventory.
    • Receipt or invoice reconciliation for all purchases where appropriate.
  • Support / Administrative Functions
    • Follow established safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Complete errands, such as picking up materials, and using a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.

    • Safety Coordination
    • Ensure required onboarding safety training is completed for all employees.

      • Review current safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.

Machine Operator Duties and Responsibilities

Complete the following duties including but not limited to:

  • With instruction, operate multi-axis CNC machines, automatic hydraulic grinders, wire and sinker EDM.
  • Perform operator level parts inspection for all parts at various stages of the machining process.
  • Maintain jobs across multiple assigned machines to ensure work orders are completed to meet the needs of business and reduce machine inefficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
  • Perform changeovers in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor production equipment including the overall machine and tool performance throughout shift to eliminate accidents and reduce defective parts, tool breakage, and machine downtime.
  • Assist with routine maintenance.
  • Work with Production Helpers to stage appropriate materials for upcoming work orders listed in the digital work order system.

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our company for a Parts Picker/ Prep position. As part of our team, you will work with a small group of individuals dedicated to their craft and a small business just as dedicated to its employees.

This role will primarily be responsible for picking and staging parts for production along with other production support tasks, including data entry. This position will work directly with and report to the Production Manager. This position is ideal for those who can showcase their initiative when opportunities to assist the team arise.  Someone that enjoys a certain level of autonomy in their duties while ensuring these responsibilities are completed efficiently will thrive in this position.

  • Receiving all parts produced on the shop floor into their allocated inventory racks for the appropriate department.
