It began several years ago with a simple email.
A friend asked if I’d seen the latest video from The Collector featuring a rare Cabot 1911—the man whose vast collection of rare firearms had captivated millions online. I hadn’t. In fact, I had never even heard of Matt or his YouTube channel before. However, Matt—known simply as The Collector—had been quietly collecting Cabot 1911s for years as a valued client of a premiere Cabot dealer, Black Rose Firearms.
Years later, our paths finally crossed at SHOT Show. What immediately struck me was not just his knowledge, but his quiet excellence in everything he touched. Then, about a year ago, Matt reached out directly with a bold request: “Build me my dream carry gun.”
We said yes. What started as one man’s vision evolved into a true collaboration and a limited run of just 10 extraordinary pistols—The Collector with serial number 1 reserved for “The Collector.” We are proud to offer the remaining 9 units as part of our 15th Anniversary Collection.
This is no ordinary 1911. It is a Commander-sized .45 ACP built for everyday carry, yet finished like fine art. The all-stainless Damascus upper showcases a dense, tight twist pattern interrupted by striking “Eye of Odin” swirls—material Matt himself selected from one of our earlier masterpieces. Every component is superbly machined and hand-fit, from the custom-cut blush-and-crowned standard barrel.
The frame wears a refined bobtail cut and our signature Cabot bobtail mainspring housing. Small parts and frame are protected by durable, beautiful Diamond Like Carbon coating. A proprietary optic mount sits impossibly low to the bore, blending seamlessly into the slide and crowned with a Trijicon SRO.
But the soul of the pistol lies in its rarest touches. The grips are carved from 12,000-year-old ancient mammoth molar—deep blues and inky blacks polished to a mirror finish, each set utterly unique. A spare set of rugged G-10 grips is included for harder use, because fossilized ivory deserves reverence, not range abuse.
The Collector is accompanied by a second, precision hand-fit threaded barrel, seamlessly matched to its bushing to deliver uncompromising accuracy and performance—offering two distinct expressions of the platform (where permitted).
And then there is the trigger: a 4.5-billion-year-old meteorite, its surface revealing the unmistakable Widmanstätten pattern—an intricate crystalline structure formed over eons of cosmic cooling, impossible to replicate on Earth. Material that once journeyed through the solar system, older than the planet itself, now rests beneath your finger—turning a shooting star into something you can holster and carry.
Matt wanted a gun he could truly live with: collectible enough for the safe, reliable enough for daily defense, and thrilling enough for suppressed range days. The full Government-length stroke in a Commander size format ensures it gives up nothing in performance.
Only ten will ever exist. Each bears a custom serial number—Collector-1 through Collector-10.
The Collector is more than a firearm. It is a story of friendship, passion, and uncompromising craftsmanship. It is art you can carry. A tool you can trust.
Collect it. Shoot it. Preferably both. Once they’re gone, this chapter closes forever.
