Inspired by our renowned Apocalypse and Serenity pistols, the Yin Yang Damascus Pistol Sets are a masterful blend of craftsmanship and art. Distinctly featuring extended frames and slides, each set is uniquely matched with paired serial numbers—YIN# and YANG#—making these collector-grade pistols truly one-of-a-kind. The intensely designed, American-crafted case is a work of art in itself, with hidden magnetic elements to securely hold each pistol and the lid. Designed for both tabletop and wall display, the case can hang like an art installation, elevating these exceptional pistols to a true collector’s masterpiece.
Throughout history, mankind has grappled with the concept of duality. From the Greek god Dionysus, embodying the contrast of chaos and order, to Stevenson’s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and the ancient Eastern philosophy of yin and yang, the human experience has been defined by the tension between opposites. It is through these contrasts that we understand our world, for without darkness, could we ever truly grasp the meaning of light? Inspired by this timeless theme, we crafted two diametrically opposed pistols. This exclusive collection of seven sets, framed by the eternal symbol of yin and yang, honors the philosophical questions that help us navigate the complexities of existence.
The Yin Yang pistol set features a stunning pair of full-dust-cover Cabot Guns 1911s encased in African mahogany and hard maple, with both pistols held securely by rare earth magnets. The monolithic frame design allows a broader view of the striking Damascus steel, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship. To emphasize the theme of duality, each pistol’s trigger contrasts with its frame, symbolizing the balance found within opposites. Each set is further distinguished by custom serial numbers—Yin-1 through Yang-7—underscoring their uniqueness. This collection captures the ancient concept of yin and yang, brought to life through these pistols, forever united as they reflect light and dark, Apocalypse and Serenity, inseparable in their eternal balance.
Mark Huston, the master craftsman behind the cases, found himself inspired by the philosophy of these pieces and wrote the following poem that encapsulates everything we fundamentally enshrined within this collection.
Yin-Yang
Light to darkness,
Darkness to light.
Winter then summer,
Day and then night.
Mountains to valleys,
Cold to hot.
Active to passive,
What’s right to what’s not.
From chaos to calm,
From war to peace.
There’s some weak in the strong,
And some strong in the weak.
Forever searching the balance we seek.
With opposite forces blending as one,
From out of the darkness and into the sun.
